Shoulder Labrum Tear

Category:

The labrum in the shoulder helps give the shoulder stability. The labrum in the shoulder is the rim around the socket to help the ball part of the joint fit more congruently. The proportions of the shoulder are like a golf ball sitting on a golf tee. The labrum is the rim around the golf tee so that the ball stays in the right place. It can be damaged with shoulder dislocations, traumatic force, or repetitive use. Because the structural integrity of the joint has been compromised with a labral tear you will need to build up the muscle system to provide adequate stability with activity.
